Integrate with Pipedrive

Pipedrive is a sales management tool for small sales teams designed around activity-based selling paradigm focusing on activities and long-term processes over static indicators. Thus, Pipedrive’s main features are pipeline management, email integration and sales reporting and forecasting.

With Cardin for Gmail Pipedrive Connector you can get useful info on your contacts while looping through your daily email communication!

What can the integration do?


When you choose Pipedrive Connector, you will be taken to a configuration screen to customize it. You will be guided through four simple steps – naming, actions,  authorization and behaviour.

The first step is straightforward – simply name the Connector however you wish it to be referenced in Cardin or leave the pre-filled value.

You don’t have to give your Connector a unique name. Also, if you try to save the Connector with no name, it will default to type’s name («Pipedrive»)

If you wish to keep things concise (or save bandwidth on metered connections), on the second step you can customize which of the advanced features will be disabled (all actions are enabled by default).

Note that if you created the Connector prior to a feature’s rollout it will be switched off by default

As access to your account is required for Cardin to query it, during the third step you will be prompted to fill in your API token used to authorize requests to Pipedrive.

Your API key can be found in Pipedrive account settings (the Add-on will present you with a direct link to its location)

Finally, the fourth step will determine advanced parameters, such as behaviour among other Connectors. You can choose between running the connector automatically or manually and wheter it should display data directly in dashboard.

First Connector you create is set to automatically run and be displayed in the dashboard by default, but you can change it you wish to

Use multiple accounts

You can use multiple accounts with Pipedrive – if you have multiple Connectors configured, each (except for the default one) will be available from the dashboard with a label on the right indicating its state:

Display | No contacts

When you open an email, Cardin searches your account for contacts matching sender’s email address and, if none found, will display a prompt and a list of possible actions, such as adding a contact in Pipedrive.

Display | Contact info

If there is a match, the first section will display general info available for the contact. Its first subsection will contain basic info and, if enabled, custom fields.

The second subsection will display contact’s emails, each type having its distinct icon (primary email will have a relevant label on the right).

The third subsection will display contact’s phone numbers (with icons for each phone type) – primary phone will also have a label on the right.

The last subsection will contain utility widgets such as contact’s status info, link to edit the contact in Pipedrive environment and creation and last edit dates (the latter will be initially hidden under spoiler).

Display | Labels

Each contact that is assigned a label in Pipedrive will be shown with an appropriate tag, helping you decide whether the contact needs special attention.

Display | Custom fields

If you have any custom person fields added, if set for the contact, they will be displayed under full name info. All 16 types available in Pipedrive are supported!

Custom date and time fields will be presented according to your locale preferences.

Note that custom person, user and organization fields will be displayed with an option to open them in Pipedrive

Display | Notes

If you have any notes added to the contact, they will be displayed in “Background” section. Any formatting applied to a note will be preserved and displayed (except bulleted and numbered lists, which will have the same display).

Display | Deals

If a deal is assigned to the contact, a deals section will be appended with overview and detailed info on each matched deal.

Deal display always includes its title, associated company name and value. Each deal can be opened in Pipedrive by clicking on “edit” label to the right of the title (if a deal is won or lost, it will be changed to status-appropriate icon).

Additionally, each note added to the deal will be displayed and, according to its status, estimated close, win or lost date (in the latter case it will be prepended by lost reason).

If activities display for deals is enabled,  a concise view for activity on a deal will be appended with info on due date, status, subject and an icon to easily identify its type.

Display | Activities

If you have any activities associated with the contact, another section will be appended, containing activities overview and detailed info on each of them.

Every activity type has its own distinct icon (if you mark an activity as “done”, this icon will change accordingly).

Activities display include their title, notes, assigned deal if set (note that assigned deal can be open in Pipedrive directly from the Add-on), due date and duration.

Display | Contact owner

Lastly, contact owner information will be shown in a separate section: name, email and status (active or inactive).


Pipedrive Connector uses API token authentication, so if you provide invalid credentials or the token is changed, you will be prompted to get new token or update the Connector if you have one already.

If your account becomes inactive due to your trial expiring or subscription failure, you will be prompted to subscribe or update payment details.
